From Reaction to Response:
Building Skills for Connection
This course transforms your understanding of human connection into practical, everyday skills. "From Reaction to Response" helps people who are committed to navigating differences in identity, power, and privilege build authentic relationships across social divides. Whether encountering differences in race, gender, class, or other aspects of identity, this course equips you with practical tools to move beyond reactive patterns and into responsive, meaningful connection—allowing you to live more grounded and authentic lives.
While many resources teach theoretical concepts about identity and power dynamics, they don't always provide the practical tools needed to put that knowledge into action. This course bridges that gap by helping you develop the skills to recognize how identity and power shape our interactions, and respond in ways that foster genuine connection across differences.
Learning in Community
A crucial component of this journey is the vibrant online community that accompanies the course. Through our dedicated community space on the Thinkific platform, you'll connect with fellow learners who are practicing these skills alongside you.
This community offers:
-
A safe space to discuss challenging topics around identity and power
-
Opportunities to share your experiences applying these skills in real-world situations
-
Regular community discussions facilitated by course instructors
-
Peer accountability and support as you develop new communication patterns
-
The chance to learn from diverse perspectives and lived experiences beyond your own
The community aspect transforms this from a solo learning journey into a collective growth experience, mirroring the very connections we're working to build in our lives. Many previous participants cite this community of practice as one of the most valuable elements of the course.
