At Authentic Coaching and Consulting, we want the work that we do to be impactful and to truly go after the depth of the issue that is attempting to be solved. We want to connect to the individuals and organizations that we work with, therefore the workshops and consultations that we do are tailored to your needs and not just “plug and play”. I am also committed to getting at the roots of organizational struggles and the things that get in the way of the healthy and equitable cultures that we seek.

When working with Authentic Coaching and Consulting you can expect connection, clarity, honesty and ease because that’s what I look for in my own life - so I want to bring those values to each of my clients and my client work. Whether a speaking engagement, workshop learning series, organizational development, equity assessment or coaching - relationship is centered and prioritized.
In every consulting engagement, we have the opportunity to challenge oppressive systems and ways that we have been conditioned into these systems, so the way that we work together might feel a bit different from other engagements that you might have, and will include these guiding pillars:

a focus on process
Process matters. How we do something matters just as much as the content and purpose of what is being accomplished in a consulting engagement. My process will always center the importance of relationship and relationship building with the client to partner and build an engagement that is meaningful to the organization.

thoughtful design and content
I care about my clients and the work that we are undertaking and I care about the transformation of our society and its ways of being, policies and practices towards one that is truly socially just. Therefore, the intention that I will bring in the design and content of our work together will include my best thinking including 30 years of thinking, researching, administrating and educating about identity, power human development and leadership.

clear communication and listening
One of my favorite quotes, often attributed to Brene Brown, Ph.D, is “Clear is kind. Unclear is unkind.” It is one of my favorites because I know that lack of clarity and thorough and thoughtful communication continues to cause so many points of conflict and misunderstanding in all types of relationships. I believe clear and kind communication will help the consulting engagement move with ease and purpose.

attention to the whole body
This guiding principle is both about the individual human bodies that exist in an organization, but also the complete organizational body and its functioning. First, I believe that focusing only on the ways that we have cognitively and psychological taken in messages through a society framed by oppression is incomplete for transformation. A somatic or whole body understanding of how we have learned oppression is also necessary. Additionally, in organizations, we must also pay attention to the whole system and how the parts of that system work to create a complete culture of socially just organizational health and belonging.

Under the consulting arm of Authentic Coaching and Consulting, I provide a variety of offerings and services that might help your organization reach your transformational organizational development goals.
Because transformation takes more than an hour, it is rare that Authentic Coaching and Consulting will take on one-off, short informational sessions. I want to be in relationship with members of the organization and learn more about the organization with which I am engaged.

- Facilitate racial affinity groups and caucus spaces for People of Color to explore, excavate and dismantle the ways that racism and internalized racism live in us as People of Color. We go after liberation in these groups, rather than just survival.
- Race caucuses are rare and sacred opportunities to do our own work around race and racism as People of Color, and to explore and deepen our individual understanding of how we hold race, relate to others through a lens of race, impact others and experience the world around us.
